Nomination Guidelines

Charter

A standing committee of five persons shall be in place to identify and select those individuals who have uniquely contributed to Palmetto High School Athletics. The Hall of Fame (HOF) will recognize and honor these individuals annually. The school Athletic Director shall always hold a position on the committee along with seven volunteers willing to fulfill its mission. The Palmetto High School Athletic Boosters shall serve as the financial arm through which the program funding takes place.

HOF nominations are open to the public as the path for identifying potential inductees. After proper vetting, qualified candidate names will be placed on a ballot. The ballot will be distributed to the committee and members of the HOF for a vote. Vetting of HOF members will continue beyond the induction ceremony.

The HOF committee will plan and organize an annual induction banquet for selectees and guests. Proper recognition will take place at the ceremony and all honorees will have a place on the Palmetto High School Campus.

Nomination Categories & Criteria Nominees must have been a Palmetto: graduate, coach, team, or contributor to qualify for the HOF.

1. 1. An athlete must have graduated Palmetto High School and have at least 10 years of life experience prior to being nominated


2. 2. A coach must have served Palmetto High School for at least 10 years. Coaches are eligible immediately if nominated.


3. 3. A qualifying team must have participated in any Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) sanctioned event at least 10 years prior to nomination.


4. 4. A contributor must have made a significant impact on the Palmetto athletic program. This category can include volunteers, financiers, boosters, businesses, and promoters of any or all school sports programs. Contributors are eligible immediately.

NOMINATION PROCESS

Nominations will be accepted when the HOF committee completes and receives the necessary form. All applications must meet the stated deadline (posted on Palmetto High Media). Forms will be available at the Palmetto High School Campus and online. Follow the instructions on the form
